Lily’s comment went up and over my head as my glaring eyes were locked on the person beneath me. My hands were tightly around their neck while I gritted my teeth to stop myself from trying to rip their face off with my very teeth.

Alright, Lily did have a good point, but there had to be somewhere in the fine print that I, Lexianne Heartwell, didn’t do well with needles and the world should already know that.

Big ones, small ones, those itsy-bitsy ones they use when they can’t find your damn veins, anything that poked into me and remained there for longer than five seconds with no pleasure bells was a trigger to unlock manic Lexi - the one currently choking this innocent man to death.

Supposed death because if this really was the valley everyone was frightened about, I was secretly hoping we didn’t die easily.

"We should think logically about this.” My eyes darted over to the other being in the room who clearly didn’t give a flying fuck about his companion, who was dying in my tight chokehold.

In fact, surely he was enjoying this turn of events.

“Fucker…if I…die…shit. I’m telling…Alpha…you stole his…tiramisu!”

That made the tall man with his crossed arms frown as he muttered, “Snitches get stitches.”

Their brief exchange was enough for me to realize that they could be rather cool allies in this new forbidden world. I clearly wasn’t starting off on the right foot, but welp. It was better than completely killing the man.

I’m sure their Alpha wouldn’t be too fond of that.

“BiBiBo!”

I loosened my grip at the cheering sound, my venomous eyes softening immediately as I looked over to my right to see Momo sitting on the edge of the examination table I’d plopped on. She was in her bigger doll form, her legs kicking forward while she swayed from side to side like she couldn’t sit still.

It was obvious from those swirling orbs that my wakefulness had only delivered her immense joy. That was probably why I lost my original objective and let go of the man’s neck.

“Momo.” I beamed. “You’re okay! Where are Zasper and the others?”

“BiBi!” She lifted her hands up and patted her head. It took me a few seconds, but something clicked. “With their master?”

“BiBiBo!” she replied happily.

“That’s a relief,” I admitted and sat back on my knees.

“Fucking hell!” the man beneath me gasped. “I could have died!”

I turned my attention back to him, and our eyes locked. I was forced to acknowledge the ultimate fact that this man had to have been a model in his shifter life above because he was strikingly beautiful.

Sure, he was handsome, no doubt about it. There was a softness in his features, from his creamy complexion that made me wonder if he was Korean to those brilliant blue eyes that could take one’s breath away.

He had soft pink lips, slightly rosy cheeks, sharp cheekbones, and dazzling orange eyes.
